November 2019 (St. Louis, MO) – Provident Behavioral Health, a nonprofit organization with a 159-year history of service to the St. Louis region, has added M. Susan Dawson, Ed.D., PMHNP-BC, to their team.

Dr. Dwson is able to prescribe medication and will help Provident’s adult clients to manage their psychiatric medications. She will work in conjunction with the organization’s counseling staff to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dawson has had a diverse career in both physical and mental health settings. She began as an LPN and added degress in business, advanced practice psychiatric nursing, and a doctorate in education.

“Provident constantly looks for ways to improve for our clients,” said Bailey Wahlquist, Director of Strategic Planning and Compliance. “Adding Dr. Susan allows us to close our circle of care while also making treatment more convenient. Departments can collaborate for each client – counselors can utilize her expertise, she can refer psychiatric clients to counselors she knows will be a great fit, and they can all meet together when needed.”
