Provident's psychiatric services are the latest example of our ongoing effort to offer the best care to our clients and give them the tools they need to live the lives they want.
Clients can now access our on-staff psychiatric nurse practitioners as part of their Provident team of professionals. This means they can obtain professional counseling, psychiatric evaluations, and psychiatric medication management within one convenient, streamlined location.
- Accepting referrals for clients ages 6+
- Treating a variety of problems such as depression, mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma
- Fees based on a sliding scale
- Most insurances accepted
- Appointments available at Provident’s St. Louis City and South locations, 5 days a week
M. Susan Dawson, Ed.D, PMHNP-BC
Susan is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 45 years of experience providing mental and physical health care. She has had a diverse career in both physical and mental health settings. She began as an LPN and added degress in business, advanced practice psychiatric nursing, and a doctorate in education.
Her treatment philosophy:
"What I do is really listen to people. I tell them that working with a full team like Provident's is what you do when you want to reach your personal goals. We're able to combine counseling with medication in the best possible way. I think this allows our clients to feel that we have their back and can put them on a path to live their best lives. "
Christine Reynolds, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Christine is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric care. She has worked with some of the top mental health providers in the region and chose to bring her talents to Provident so she can help people of all ages, most specifically children and adolescents, no matter their financial resources.

Note: Provident accepts most private insurance and has a sliding fee scale based on financial need. There is no out of pocket expense for counseling and psychiatric services to St. Louis County youth under the age of 20 thanks to a grant from St. Louis County Children's Service Fund.
