Team Jakey is a St. Louis foundation that was created to honor Jake Zeller by his family after losing him to suicide. They have raised more than $500,000 for suicide prevention over the past decade and have generously given to Provident. Sam Zeller presented a compelling testimonial at the Spirit of Provident Gala, challenging guests by stating “…We all need to listen a little better. We all need to make space for honest, compassionate conversations. We need to remove the stigma around mental health so that people can be seen before they’re in crisis. And most of all, we all need to be a little more comfortable with the uncomfortable. We as individuals, can be the bridge between someone’s darkest moment and the help they need.”
