Team Jakey is a St. Louis nonprofit founded in 2014 after Jake Zeller’s life ended by suicide. His family brings the community together with community events, partnerships, and speaking engagements to end the stigma around mental illness and saves lives.
The organization hosted their 12th annual Gentleman Jake Cornhole Tournament in September and raised $50,000 to support Provident and other suicide prevention efforts. Staff members Maggie Bauer, Julie McDowell, and Charlie Smith volunteered at the event, and board member James Mueller played in the tournament, deepening our organization’s relationship with the Zeller’s and celebrating this positive community partnership.
