Yes, this past Saturday, our fine feathered friends flocked
to our Annual 5K Rooster Run at Forest Park and Fredbird flew in too to join the fun. PJ Randhawa, reporter for KSDK, emceed the event along with her really cute pug puppy, Yogi.  Provident's Rudy the Rooster got a head start and the first ten runners to catch Rudy won gift cards to the Rooster Cafe.

The top overall winner was Takashi Miki at 18:42 and Julie Spurgeon was the top female runner at 21:46. Click here to see all the results.

A big cockle-doodle-dew to all the runners, volunteers and supporters!  Your engagement means the world to us and helps us fund our 24/7 crisis hotline, counseling services and community support programs.

Our Summer Escape Camp started on May 31 but there's still a bit of room!  Don't let your kids miss out on this FUN!

This club-focused summer camp for youth ages 6-17 is located at St Frances Cabrini in South City at 3022 Oregon Ave.  Provident provides a safe environment for your kids, as well as breakfast, lunch and snacks!   Plus, kids can choose from five different topics ---cooking, theatre, film-making, construction, or leadership skills.

Summer Escape operates two sessions:  May 31st - June 30th;  and July 5th - August 5th.

Our Suicide Prevention Workshop on November 20th was well attended and we are very grateful for the community partners who contributed.  Big thanks to all the presenters -   Linda Fehrmann from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention;  Angela Tate, Behavioral Health Response (BHR); Greg Behrman, CHADS Coalition; Richard Stevenson, National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI);  Elizabeth Makulec, Kids Under Twenty-One (KUTO) and Heather Barnett, Provident.  Critical information and resources were disseminated.  Also, a big thanks to SSM Behavioral Health and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for sponsoring the event. We also want to thank Temple Emanuel for allowing us to use their wonderful facility and assisting with set-up.

Our Life Crisis Services received an award from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for our dedicated 24/7 Life Crisis Hotline. It was an evening of fast wheels, jousting and lots of scoring by the St. Louis Gatekeeper's Roller Derby Team on Saturday, August 15th.  But in the midst of it all, there was a  push for awareness and prevention.  The Gatekeepers lost one of their co-founders, Evan Jones, by suicide a few weeks ago and they want to honor his memory and also prevent this type of tragedy from happening again.  They contacted us so we could spread the word about our crisis hotline and other services.  We're here to help those in need and

May 5th was a great day for our entire community!  The spirit of giving is strong in St. Louis. Give Stl Day raised over $2,073,104 with a total of 20,260 gifts.  That's awesome!
