Rose Bernardez, MSW, LCSW

Rose is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received her MSW from University of Missouri-St. Louis.  She worked as a visiting therapist for children in St. Louis Public Schools and looks forward to working with this population again.  Rose is passionate about helping clients to develop tools and skills to cope and deal with everyday life.  She is committed to creating a warm and safe environment where clients feel secure and supported.  Rose is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and works out of the Wildwood Office, 2634 Highway 109, Suite E, Wildwood, MO 63040.

Angela Cook, MSW, LCSW

Angela Cook has extensive experience working with children with ADD/ADHD but she also treats broader adolescent issues, both individually and in group settings.  In addition, she treats adults and the elderly, utilizing cognitive-behavioral, reality and eclectic modalities.  Angela joined Provident in 2000 and works primarily out of our Jefferson County location, 3675 W. Anita D. Cohn, MSW, LCSW

Anita is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a decade of experience working with those experiencing trauma, PTSD, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, parent-child relationship problems, addictions (substance abuse and eating disorders) and women’s issues. 

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Webster University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from St. Louis University with a focus on Children and Families.

Ida J. Grider is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified School Counselor with 15+ years of experience at Provident, Inc. and Lindbergh School District. Leslie (Kevin) Haines, MSW

Kevin completed his bachelor's degree in computer science at University of Missouri-St. Louis.  He received his Masters degree in Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis and is currently pursuing his PhD at Saint Louis University.

Rachel Hasper, M.A., LPC

Rachel completed her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Redlands in California.  She received her Masters degree in Counseling and Human Development from Saint Louis University and is currently practicing as a licensed as a Professional Counselor for the state of Missouri.  

She has experience working with adolescents, adults, and groups covering issues such as: mood disorders, domestic violence, addictions, relationship issues, stress management, and crisis intervention. Kathleen Haverstick, Med, PLPC

Edward L Jackson, M.Ed, LPC

Edward is a Licensed Professional Counselor who recently joined Provident Inc.  He worked for 15+ years at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center and also worked extensively as an Employee Assistance Counselor with numerous corporations, craft unions, and municipalities.  While he specializes in several areas, he is most proud of his work with Afro-American pre-teens and teenagers, in which he primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral and rational-emotive therapies.  In addition, he is one of two area therapists who conduct chemical dependency counseling for the National Football League.  Ed graduated in 1994 from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  He is based at the West County Office, 12755 Olive, Suite 115, Creve Coeur, MO 63141 and South City location, 6555 Chippewa, Suite 150, St. Louis, MO 63109.

Marcy Krems, M.Ed., LPC

Marcy is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She is working towards certification at The St. Louis Center for Play Therapy. Marcy has worked with adolescents for 3 years providing DBT individual therapy and teaching DBT Skills Group to adolescents and their parents. Marcy works with clients who have experienced trauma and who are dealing with self-injurious behavior, interpersonal problems and emotional dysregulation.

Marcy attended Miami University in Ohio and University of Missouri-St. Louis and received a BA in Psychology (2006) and a Masters in Education in Counseling and Family Therapy (2008). Larry Marshall is an experienced therapist who believes that psychotherapy can free individuals, couples and families from the oppression of illness and disorder.  For more than twenty-five years he has been helping people as they journey to find healing, meaning and growth in their lives.  He has assisted individuals seeking freedom from the restrictions imposed by phobias, anxiety and depression.  He also helps parents, and families dissolve power struggles and increase communication and connection.  He is located at the West County Office.

Craig McIntosh, MSW, LCSW

Craig McIntosh is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that psychotherapy offers individuals a way to find direction and meaning in the difficulties they face in life. He has over 13 years of experience helping people recover from crisis, resolve painful emotions, and go on to create meaningful, healing relationships.

He works with people struggling with depression and anxiety, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, life transitions and spiritual questions. Craig also has experience working with sex offenders, domestic violence and those who have experienced long-term incarceration.

Craig currently serves as the Program Coordinator for Provident’s Men Ending Domestic Violence (MEDV) batterer intervention program and is President of the Association of Batterer Intervention Providers (ABIP) in St. Louis.  Craig works at our Yalem location, 2650 Olive, St. Louis, MO 63103.

Nancy Mesey, MA, LPC

Nancy recently joined Provident, coming from Chestnut Health Systems in Illinois where she worked as a clinician serving the mentally ill, adolescents with dual diagnosis and people in crisis.  While at the residential treatment facility, some of the presenting problems were substance abuse, mental health issues, self-harm and suicide ideations.  Nancy provided empowerment to the patients by teaching coping and communication skills and ways to increase their self esteem and self respect.  In therapy sessions, Nancy teaches core values: respect; hope; empowerment, physical well-being; and spirituality.

Nancy received her Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University, has a Certificate in chemical Dependency, and is licensed in the area of Professional Counseling from the State of Missouri.  Nancy works at our Arnold Office, 3675 W. Spignotta Milam, MSW, LCSW

Erica Rosen-McGinnis, MSW, LMSW

Erica Rosen-McGinnis, MSW is a licensed master social worker who works with individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals. Erica utilizes a variety of treatment approaches when working with individuals. Her clinical interests include helping people navigate difficult life transitions, relationship issues, body image issues, and health and wellness concerns. Erica believes that all of her clients possess inherent strengths and have the ability to live a fulfilling and rewarding life.

Erica graduated with her B.A. in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and received her Master’s in Social Work from Washington University’s George Warren Brown School of Social Work (with a specialization in Mental Health). Erica is currently pursuing additional clinical training in the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program run by the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute.

Margaret Schicker, LCSW

Margaret Schicker, LCSW, has been with Provident since 2002.  She holds a license in Missouri and Illinois.  She works with a variety of clients including adults and adolescents with mental health disorders ranging from depression and anxiety to victim issues or couples counseling.  She also works with mandated clients requiring sex offender, addictions or domestic violence treatment.  She is a member of ATSA and MoATSA, drawing upon the research for providing best practices for sex offender treatment and oversees the groups’ programs for Provident. Margaret works at our Central City and South City locations.

Bailey Wahlquist, MA, LCPC

Bailey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and began working for Provident in 2011. Prior to coming to Provident, Bailey worked in an outpatient community mental health center in Northern Illinois providing individual, family, and group therapy and crisis services to a variety of client populations. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2006) and Master’s degree in Clinical Adult Psychology (2008) from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Bailey particularly enjoys treating anxiety disorders, as stress and anxiety contribute to medical and health problems. Maria has been a therapist with Provident since May of 2000.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Illinois and a board-certified Art Therapist with the American Art Therapy Association and the Art Therapy Credentials Board.

Gwendolyn has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Non-Profit Administration at Lindenwood University. Gwen became a part of the Provident family in October 2007.  Previously she worked as a Child Abuse and Neglect Investigator for St. Louis City Children’s Division and a Career Counselor for Nu-Way Truck Driving Training Center.. Tanjila Bolden, MSW

Tanjila is a Master’s level social worker with five years of experience working and volunteering in various social service settings. After completing both her BSW and MSW from the University of Missouri St. Louis, Tanjila worked as a Case Manager for the Department of Social Services in the Jennings Children’s Division and later became a Child Abuse and Neglect Investigator for St. Charles County. Following her work for the State, Tanjila served as the Director of Small Talk Child Care in the City of St. Louis.

In addition to her employment, Tanjila is a dedicated volunteer at Sickle Cell Disease Community Advocates, Inc. serving as the Teen Support Group facilitator.  Tanjila believes the situations we are faced with, on a day to day basis, serve to build our character and teach us how to accept a hand up, not a handout. Helena Brown, BSW

Helena has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Lindenwood University and is currently working on a Master's degree in Nonprofit Administration.  A caring individual with a passion for social services, Helena has seven years of experience in the social service field. For six years, prior to joining Provident Inc.,  Helena was  a Children’s Service Worker for the Department of Social Services-Children’s Division,  providing services and case management to intact families, foster children, their parents, and delinquent teens.

Her time with Children’s Division enabled her to obtain a vast. working knowledge of the many resources in our community.and experience working with Family Court, Juvenile Delinquency, Probation and Parole, Special School District, police departments and other social service agencies.  Helena works primarily out of our Wildwood Office, 2634 Highway 109, Suite E, Wildwood, MO 63040.

Tameka Brown, BS
