Kristin Bulin, MSW, LCSW

Depression, anxiety, parent/child and home-school conflicts, current or past trauma issues, grief and loss, older relationship difficulties, anger and stress management, and job related problems.

As a social worker and therapist, Kristin believes individuals have within them an inner strength. With clinical support and therapy, clients can find their strength to improve their quality of life. She believes in blended /integrative therapies when providing intervention, allowing for individualized treatment specific to each client’s needs and recovery. Kristin has served as a clinical social worker in adult and children’s psychiatric hospitals; providing crisis intervention and intensive in-home therapy and case management services with families; and facilitating group therapy to domestic violence perpetrators, culturally diverse torture survivors, and war trauma refugees. 

For over 15 years, Kristin has supervised social workers and counselors; developed and managed adult and children’s therapeutic programs; completed grants to governmental and private funders; and  led a grassroots agency as their executive director. In addition to training/supporting/supervising staff, Kristin enjoys providing therapeutic services to adults, adolescents, and families. Her clinical approaches in therapy  include: Cognitive Processing Therapy, strength-based narrative therapy, family therapies, Gestalt therapy, trauma-focused yoga, meditation and stress-reduction techniques, and Effective Freedom Therapy. Kristen Caldwell, MA, LPC

Kristen Caldwell is a licensed professional counselor who graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary with a Master's in Counseling in 2001. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the counselor education and supervision program at Regent University.

Kristen's experience in counseling began with adjudicated youth in residential treatment facilities in St. Louis County and Kansas City. From there she began working with high risk youth in an urban school setting providing crisis intervention for students, families, and administrators, and teachers. She also trained students to be peer educators who conducted mediations between peers with conflict, supported students struggling with academic pressures, and provided additional resources when outside of their competence level. Her passion is working with marginalized populations who have experienced trauma. Currently, Kristen is the supervisor of school-based services for Provident. Provident is providing individual and group counseling services within the Jennings School District.  Kristen is located at our Ferguson Office, 409 South Florissant, Ferguson, MO 63135.

Linda Diggs, MSW, LCSW

Specializations: Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language Disorders, Spectrum Disorder

Linda Diggs has professional experience working with special needs children and adolescents, i.e. Learning Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, Speech and Language Disorders, Spectrum Disorder, physical disabilities, and Intellectual Disorders.  She has worked with children ranging in age from 5 to 17 and is experienced in both individual and group counseling. Nahnahsha Deas Elmore, MSW, MPS, LCSW

Nahnahsha Deas Elmore, has passionately served children, adults, families and couples seeking mental health treatment since 1996. She has professional experience providing individual, family and group counseling in a variety of settings, and strongly believes in meeting clients where they are. Nahnahsha uses a strength-based, person-centered, solution-focused approach to journey with clients through difficult times, helping them to discover healing from past and present pain. In this process, she invites her clients towards personal growth, increase coping skills, and a greater freedom to risk, hope, and love.

Nahnahsha primarily uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, but she also integrates interventions and techniques based on client need. Interventions may include, Family Systems Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Creative Therapies (Sand Tray, Art, Play, Drama and Dance), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Theraplay, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Behavior Modification techniques.

Nahnahsha completed her MSW at Washington University in 2009, and received her Master’s degree in Pastoral Studies (counseling) from Eden Theological Seminary in 2010. Rosemary Jackson, MSW, LCSW

Rosemary Jackson is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience. She works with a variety of clients - individuals, adults, families and couples. Lindsay Jeffries, MA, LPC, CRC

Lindsay, LPC, CRC, is a graduate of both the University of Wyoming and Maryville University and has been working in the social services field for 14 years.  She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and  holds a professional counseling license from Missouri.

Lindsay's focus is on creating a safe, open environment where clients can feel empowered to find their inner strengths.  Throughout her career, she has worked with a variety of clients and adapts her therapeutic modality to the needs of the clients. Knieba Jones, MA, LMFT

Knieba recently moved here from Los Angeles and has a vast array of experience along with a passion for addressing the mental health needs of the African American community.  Her priority is to create a safe, trusting, non-judgmental relationship with her clients in order to promote a deeper understanding of their needs, challenges, and concerns.  She utilizes a variety of treatment modalities ... music, play and art therapy, trauma-informed intervention, individual and family therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, yoga and more.

James Keeton, MA, PLCPC

James has over 14 years of expereince in the social service field.  It is his desire to assist individuals in discovering their strengths and utilizing these findings to improve life transitions, reduce anger and stress, and modify maladaptive behaviors.  His therapeutic goal is to assist clients in positive thinking and adjust ineffective behaviors utilizing solution-forward therapeutic techniques as well as cognitive behavioral therapy.  Ultimately, James believes each client is an individual and will adjust his approach to fit the needs of the client.  James works out of our North County Office, 409 S. Margaret (Shelley) Kues, LPC, RPT-S

Margaret utilizes a strength-based approach to improve and reinforce relationships between children and their families. For younger children, she often  incorporates play therapy in to the counseling sessions because play is a natural means for children to communicate their concerns and feelings.  Margaret's previous work experience includes: providing in-home counseling to families with children who have developmental disabilities such as Autism Spectrum disorders; and  private therapy with clients ranging in age from 3-70 with a variety of concerns.

Nicole is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing integrative psychotherapy for adolescents, adults and families.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2005 and her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling in 2010. Peggy Maull, MSW, LCSW

In April of 2015, Peggy Maull joined Provident as a school-based therapist in the North County area.  Peggy graduated from Washington University in 1996 with a Masters in Social Work.  Since then she has worked in a variety of non-profit and school settings with children, adolescents and families.   Peggy's most recent experience includes working with children and adolescents whose mothers were incarcerated by the state of Missouri, as well as psycho- educational groups in school settings that focus on conflict resolution and social skills.  Peggy is located in our North County Office at 409 South Florissant Road, Ferguson, MO 63135.

Nancy Mesey, MA, LPC

Nancy Mesey was inspired to become a therapist as a result of her own positive experience receiving counseling.  She initially earned her Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology at Lindenwood University and then went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, also at Lindenwood.  Nancy has extensive experience working with different populations, ranging from adolescents to adults to senior citizens.  She also has valuable experience working with varying issues such as substance abuse, mental health and gerontology.

Her previous work settings include the adolescent outpatient clinic at Christian Northeast Hospital, a residential treatment facility for adolescents and Chestnut Health Systems for mentally ill adults.  Since coming to Provident in March of 2011, Nancy has made many significant contributions.  In April of 2012, she established an ongoing self-injury support group for youth which is held at our West County Office.  She has written a number of informative blogs for our website.  And, she has provided several success stories that inspire individuals to seek help and realize the potential benefit of therapy.

Nancy’s primary tactics when working with a client include:  establishing a relationship based on respect and mutual trust; building a rapport; and creating treatment plans with specific action items.  Nancy believes that clients often have the answers to their problems but may need to learn the skills to “listen to their inner voices.”  Once this insight is gained, they’re able to move forward toward positive change.  Nancy works at our West County Office, 12755 Olive Blvd, Suite 115, Creve Coeur, MO 63141.

Sarah Paradise M.Ed., NCC, PLPC

Specializations: Crisis Intervention, Mental Health Issues, Personality Disorders, Self-Injury, Grief and Loss, Survivors of Suicide, Family Dynamics, Relationship Issues, Child and Adolescent Issues, LGBT/Sexual Minority Concerns.

Sarah received her M.Ed. in counseling at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in May 2015. While in schoo,l she treated a range of individuals from residents of a locked psychiatric floor with severe mental illness, student and community wellness, and a practicum at Provident’s Life Crisis Services. Since graduation she has been employed with Provident’s Life Crisis Services as a Crisis Intervention Specialist and Clinician. Her focus has been providing Crisis Intervention to at risk and suicidal individuals. She has also worked with creating the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for Adolescents and supported Survivors of Suicide groups.

Her main modalities are: Dialectical Behavior Theray ( DBT) ; Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT);  Motivational Interviewing; Family Systems; Marriage Counseling/Enrichment;  Solution Focused; and Play Therapy.

Karsee Taylor Parr, MA, LPC

Karsee has been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 12 years.  She has experience working with children, adults and couples, and has worked both in St. Louis and in the United Kingdom.  Previous work experiences include: case management with mentally ill children; working with pregnant teens in a residential facility; school-based counseling services; private therapy; and working with young adults with depression and anxiety.  Karsee believes the family system is an important consideration when treating an individual.  She also treats trauma and understands that trauma can have a significant effect on a person's mental and physical health.  Karsee is located at our Ferguson Office, 409 South Florissant, St. Louis, MO 63135 and also is engaged in school-based counseling in the Jennings School District.

Tracey Pearson, LPC, LCPC,

Tracey has experience providing individual and group therapy within an outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment setting. Tracey provided treatment within an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility, a community behavioral health treatment facility and within a state correctional treatment center. Tracey utilizes a holistic and person centered theoretical approach to facilitate change within the individual. Tracey believes the body, mind and soul are inter-connected and need to be addressed to promote healing within the individual. Tracey is trained in Motivational Interviewing and EMDR therapy while utilizing an eclectic therapeutic approach which includes CBT and Positive Psychology techniques. Tracey also works with clients requiring sex offender and domestic violence group treatment who may be mandated to treatment by the legal system. Margaret Schicker, LCSW

Margaret Schicker, LCSW, has been with Provident since 2002.  She holds a license in Missouri and Illinois.  She works with a variety of adult clients with mental health disorders ranging from depression and anxiety to victim issues or couples counseling.  She also works with mandated clients requiring sex offender, addictions or domestic violence treatment.  She is a member of ATSA and MoATSA, drawing upon the research for providing best practices for sex offender treatment and oversees the groups’ programs for Provident. Jeannette Stanford, MS, LPC

Jeannette has a varied background in forensic processes, sexual abuse treatment for victims and offenders, and behavior management treatment.  She believes strongly in short-term, solution-based therapy using cognitive behavioral methods.  She has also received training in family therapy from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  Jeannette is located at the Central City Office, 2650 Olive, St. Louis, MO 63103.

Michele Vining, MA, LPC (Missouri), LCPC (Illinois), CADC (Illinois)

Maria M. Watkins, ATR-BC, LPC (Missouri), LCPC (Illinois)

Maria has been a therapist with Provident since May of 2000.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Illinois and a board-certified Art Therapist with the American Art Therapy Association and the Art Therapy Credentials Board.

In addition to the specializations listed above, she is also experienced in dealing with children who have been abused and those recovering from trauma, depression and anxiety.  She also provides support to parents whose children have ADHD and other emotional/behavioral disorders.  Her work experience is broad, ranging from schools and community health clinics to in-patient and outpatient therapy agencies.  Maria works primarily out of the South County Office, 11222 Tesson Ferry Rd, Suite 100, St. Louis, MO 63123..
